Ever notice?
Today was one of those days where, after sleeping fitfully because of a toothache, I got up early and called my dentist for a sort of “emergency walk-in.”
I had four extractions done-one of which was a wisdom tooth. I was so glad to get rid of that thing! Why do we get wisdom teeth anyway? The only thing I can see them being good for is massacring the tender skin of the jaw. Ugh.
Anyway, back to the point of the post: Ever notice how, when you’re going to the dentist you dread getting the shots (if you’re one of those people who do dread the shots) then, once you’re all nice and numb, you start to hope the dentist “hurries up” and gets the teeth out…before the feeling comes back?
Like it’s gonna do THAT in a hurry, right? Mine usually takes hours to come back, but still, I find myself having that moment or two of worry that the doc might not make it in there fast enough to pull the teeth before the numbies wears off and then the extraction process will HURT.
Today, I am happy to report that my dentist did get the teeth out in time.
The numbness is still in the process of wearing off (it’s 3:09 PM and he gave me the shot around noon) and everything’s great! Except I need a nap. Later.
All right, I’ll try to post about something more interesting than my dentist visit tomorrow, but for today, I’m outta here. Make today a good one!
