Stuff To Think About…

August 30, 2009: Day 3

August30

It’s Day 3 of my John Reese inspired “Pebble Theory” Momentum series “self-challenge” and I’m stoked! Why?

I managed to get my first product for this challenge online! If you’ll look at the sidebar of the blog (over to your right there) you’ll see it.

Although it took a bit longer than I expected it to, I did it! I have a brand new product online and having accomplished that is a wonderful feeling!

And I’m very happy with the content of the guide, too. If you’re looking into getting started publishing your own information products, I feel this guide gives a decent overview of the sort of things you should expect.

Alrighty then, so the first product in the series is up and running — and I priced it in accordance and in keeping with this challenge — at just $1.

Why? Because that’s the point of it: Prove to yourself you can make that first $1, and then build off the momentum of that sale to make more and more and more. Right? Right.

So…you would probably all agree the next logical step would be to start throwing traffic at the product, but I’m rarely logical. Instead, this is what I have in mind:

Creating the next product in the series.

If you’re following along on this, running your own little “Pebble Theory” challenge, be prepared to put in some long hours because the “plan” I have in mind involves some mega-product creation initially.

I’m going to write like mad till I have at least 12 products created…one for each month of the year.

Then’s when the *real* magic will start to happen. Well, that’s the plan anyway. We’ll see how it goes. :-)

Okay, so I kinda want each product in the series to connect in some way to the previous one, and since I started with Information Publishing, I decided I’d make this second one be all about “Product Creation”.

Today’s tasks then, are to: outline, research and create my second product with the working title of “Product Creation.”

Ready? Time to get crackin! Come on back tomorrow and I’ll let ya know how I did. And we’ll move on to the next step.
