What’s In The Playlist?
Since I’m up late writing tonight, I figured it couldn’t hurt to turn on Napster and let the music play in the background whilst I was working.
What’s on the playlist?
“When You Say Nothing At All” by Alison Krauss. This song relaxes me. It’s a soft song. Airy.
“Why Don’t You And I?” by Santana and Chad Kroeger (I think?). Uh, my daughter informed me it’s “Alex Band”. Sorry about that. The song’s still bouncy. Upbeat. Feel-good music.
“Say My Name” by Within Temptation. Air song. Flowy. Dreamy. This is the song I call the “theme song” for my book: The Legacy Of Sleepy Hollow. I listened to this song over and over while writing that book, and I could “feel” my characters. See them. Hear them. Knew their hearts and souls…and this song ran through them all. <sigh>
I was sorry to type the words “The End” because I didn’t want my people to leave me.
It’s a great book. I’m so proud to have written it. Can’t wait, though, for the movie.
“Dance With The Devil” by Breaking Benjamin. Gritty song. Active. Thrumming…like a heavy heartbeat when you’re running for your life. Someday I think I’ll write a scene that fits the feel of this song.
…and finally…
“Ordinary” by Train. A mixed song. Gritty and airy at the same time. Determined. Yes. This is a “determined” song. I like it.

Hey good stuff…keep up the good work! I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks,)
A definite great read…:)

Thanks, Bill! Glad you stopped by, and I hope you’ll come again soon.
Let’s see… my playlist… well, depends really on what sort of mood I’m in.
If it’s copywriting time, we’ve got La Traviata, Phantom of the Opera, and the soothing sounds of Vivaldi. If it’s design time… just marketing materials, mind you… then we’ve got Norah Jones, Aisha Duo, Anoushka Shankar and U2 (my all time fave!).
But… if it’s web design time… well for that I’ve got The Ramones, Soft Cell, U2 (again, lol), George Thorogood and anything else that gets your toes tapping
