Brendon Burchard’s Experts Academy
I’ve been following Brendon Burchard’s pre-launch for Experts Academy (go to http://www.expertsacademy.com/blog/ for some great free info) and in his fourth video, Brendon talks about having a “framework” on which to hang the bulk of your content.
Brendon gave viewers a little “homework assignment” at the end of that video wherein he asked folks who were watching to think about what tips they would offer on several specific topics. I did a quick go-through, answering with my top tips right off the top of my head.
Here was Brendon’s question: What are your 3 to 5 tips for succeeding in …
- life in general?
- relationships?
- leading others?
- business?
- marketing?
- sales?
- your industry?
- school?
- health and fitness?
- finding your purpose?
- living a good life?
Here were my answers, in brief:
- life in general?
1. Be yourself
2. Be honest
3. Do unto others as you’d like others to do for you
- relationships?
1. Be honest
2. Communicate
3. Share the load
4. Compromise
- leading others?
1. Don’t expect/ask others to do anything you wouldn’t do yourself
2. Do things WITH your group instead of setting yourself up as a “all watch and no do” leader
3. Reward good works
4. Pay attention/listen to others
5. Be honest
6. Remember: No one can lead without followers, so followers are VERY important
- business?
1. Be honest
2. Offer value
3. Treat customers well
4. Sell something people want to buy
5. Sell a lot of it

3. Show the good and bad of a product and let the BUYER decide
4. Market products with REAL value
- sales?
1. Be compassionate to your buyer’s situation
2. Know your product cold
3. Know your buyer’s wants/needs/desires that match the product you’re offering
4. Let the BUYER make the decision to buy
5. Don’t make buyers feel they were PUSHED to make a purchase — they’ll never buy from you again
- your industry?
1. Always be writing
2. Actually submit/sell your work
3. Follow proven blueprints and guidelines
4. Know how to market your work
5. Talk with readers to know what they want you to write
- in school?
1. Get plenty of sleep
2. Pay attention to lectures
3. Read lesson material
4. Do lessons/exercises
- at health and fitness?
1. Let your body lead you – it knows what it needs
2. Actually pay attention to your body – it’s the “natural” you and nothing about it is “shameful, ugly, or wrong.”
3. Don’t “overdo” – a little each day is plenty
4. Don’t give up
5. Synthetic pills and medicines aren’t the only way to change/heal/grow
- at finding your purpose?
1. Realize that your purpose isn’t something you can do NOW and be done with – it is accomplished through living every single day of your life
2. Pay attention to what you LOVE to do and what you’re GOOD at already
3. Your purpose is something you achieve “by example” – you lead by example through living your day to day life
- at living a good life?
1. Be honest and live with integrity
2. Lead by example
3. Think for yourself
4. Don’t be afraid to be YOU
5. Embrace your dreams and go for them
Good answers, I believe. Simple, to the point, and honest … but possibly too brief to be of any real, lasting assistance to you. I believe it would be helpful (to you) and interesting (to me) to go a bit more in-depth with those answers, so I’m going to write a new post on each one … make a series out of it.
I’ll post the first one, “How To Succeed In Life” tomorrow. See ya then!
