How Strange …
How strange have been the turn of event over the past two days.
First, I attempt to help a fellow marketer who knows as much as I do (fat lot of good that does) and end up hindering him (with goofy gab) in a race to get a product ready so he can actually feed himself something nice (like a steak) instead of the Ramen diet he’s been on for the past two weeks.
Next, a fellow marketer sends a guy to me for writing work. I am friends with the marketer and I really appreciated the recommendation, and although I hated to do it, I turned down the interested party because he wanted a lot more for $2-300 than I could provide at that amount.
Then, “I” got turned down on an offer to manage a full-out, 7-day mini-product launch for another marketer friend for just under a grand. And I even mentioned there was no need to pay me until AFTER the launch, provided it was a success. <shrug> Oh, well. Them’s the breaks, right?
Finally, I decided (at the urging of a growing headache) it was time to shut off the computer and get back to work on my own project.
What am I working on?
A road map, I guess you’d call it. A simple plan of sorts for those new to Internet Marketing who really want to get started earning money from their own Internet business but have no idea which direction to turn, or even how to begin.
When I did the outline for the thing, it looked pretty simple and straight-forward, but as I work on it, it’s morphing into something larger than what I had originally intended. But it is also a lot better, information and guidance-wise, than I’d thought it would be.
See, I know there are many people out there who’ve heard about this whole “Internet Marketing” thing and they’re really interested in giving it a shot, but they really have no clue how to get started.
Maybe you are one of them? And sure, I could point you to this forum or that blog, but if I did, I’d just be contributing to what’s become commonly known in the Internet Marketing circles as “Information Overload.” I mean, there’s just too much information in places like that for a beginner to properly aggregate.
I know this because I’ve been in exactly that position: wanting to do something, but not knowing what to start with, or which thing to do when for the best results.
So anyway, that’s why I decided to put together a little blueprint for anyone who — isn’t looking for ways to make a quick buck online, but is rather hoping to build a long-term business on the Internet.
Er … and before I got back to work on it for the evening, I decided to come here and write about the oddness of the past couple of days.
Guess it just proves what goes around comes around, huh? Strange … but true.
