Skanks, Animals, TubThumping, and More…
Lately I’ve been listening to a seemingly odd playlist. My kids just shake their head and walk out of my office (so it’s definitely good for something, right? Haha!)
The Rockafeller Skank by FatBoy Slim is first in my playlist. “Funk Soul Brotha!”
I keep hearing “check it out, now!” and although I’m still not sure what I’m supposed to “check out,” the rhythm is fun, so I keep listening to it. LOL
Savage Garden’s “The Animal Song” is next. Funny part is, the main thing I hear when I listen to this is, “I want to live…” <shrug> Don’t we all? I mean “really” live. Not merely “exist.” Maybe that’s why those words seem to stand out more right now than any of the others in the song?
Third, I have “I Want You” — also Savage Garden. You may recognize it as the “chicka cherry cola” song. LOL. My mom STILL calls it that, although we’ve told her the actual title of the song repeatedly.
And last but not least, I’m tubthumping. LOL. “TubThumping (I Get Knocked Down)” is the final song in my playlist for today.
These songs all feel “active” lately, which helps me be more active. More productive, I guess?
Anyway, that’s what I’m listening to. What about you? What’s in YOUR playlist?
