A Little Mood-Boosting Music Tonight
Hey there.
Tonight, I’m working late again. Lots to do, but irritation and a lack of patience is making it hard for me to focus, so I thought I’d put on some music to (hopefully) erase the irritation and improve my mood a bit.
So here’s what I’ve got going:
Rock You Like A Hurricane – by the Scorpions.
Rockin’ song that brings back good memories from my youth.
Send Me An Angel – also by the Scorpions.
An airy song. Every time I listen to this, my mind goes to novels I’ve read about Scotland and the Highlands. Adam Black, where are you? LOL
It’s My Life – by Bon Jovi.
Kind of forceful feeling. An “I mean it” kinda song.
Hurts So Good – by John (Cougar) Mellencamp.
Another song from my youth. Memories of the movie “Footloose,” and lots of dancing. I remember dancing a lot when I was a teen.
Hey, this is starting to sound like a musical trip down memory lane. LOL
Hold My Hand – by Hootie & The Blowfish.
Anybody else think that was a ridiculous name for a band? But I like the music, so…<shrug>. I don’t really know the words to this one, but the rhythm generally lifts my mood.
Found Out About You – by the Gin Blossoms.
Another wierd band name. Does gin blossom? Or do they mean YOU will blossom if you drink enough gin?
Like with Hootie’s song above, I think it’s more the rhythm I enjoy about this song than anything. The rhythm of the chorus, that is.
Follow You Down – also by the Gin Blossoms.
Makes me think of the Pied Piper story. Wonder why? All that following down stuff, I guess. But it’s a “flowy” song. Guess I love songs where the music or the words make me think of floating through the air.
Could it be I’m a dreamy dreamer? Ah well. Spongebob Squarepants can be a goofy goober, so I suppose it’s okay for me to be a dreamy dreamer.
Allison Road – yet another one by the Gin Blossoms.
Hmmm. Allison Road: Street name or girl’s name? I remember wondering about this when this song was first popular. Great beat, though. The music makes me feel good. It’s kind of “gently” rockin’, if that makes sense.
Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong – by the Spin Doctors.
This song always makes me smile. And the music’s good, too. Kind of a revenge song, and at the same time not. Haha. It’s fun.
If You’re Gone – by Matchbox Twenty.
A deep song, this one. Emotional, but at the same time, it fits into my “airy” category. A “please don’t leave me, we can do this” song? A “can’t you see we need each other” song? Hmmm. (I think the lead singer is sexy. Shhhhh!)
Unwell – also by Matchbox Twenty.
This song feels like a ”looking back over life” song to me. Airy, yes. Good music, good rhythm. I likes.
So there you have it, one of my many ”mood-boosting” playlists. What songs do you like to hear when you’re in a foul mood, or just feelin’ down, to lift your spirits?
